Baby Steps

Up to 18 Months

Our Baby Steps program is a complimentary four week program which has been designed to safely introduce your baby to the aquatic environment and cater to your baby's individual needs. During a 30 minute Baby Steps class, we will focus on water familiarisation, aquatic readiness, gross motor skill development, water safety and all of the essentials for swim skill development. Infants are gently introduced to the water at their own pace, through age-appropriate fun tasks, games and songs. Swimming with your baby is a great way to strengthen your bond as they explore and discover the many pleasures that the water has to offer.

Cherubs

4  - 15 Months

Cherubs is our introductory swimming program tailored for babies aged 4 to 15 months. This class is carefully designed to provide a gentle and nurturing introduction to the aquatic environment, helping little ones feel safe and confident in the water. Using a combination of songs, games, and playful activities, we focus on developing key skills such as breath control, buoyancy, and basic movement patterns. These activities not only encourage water familiarity, but also lay the groundwork for essential swimming techniques.

In a warm and supportive setting, parents and babies bond through shared experiences while infants build confidence and coordination. The program is paced to suit each baby's comfort level, ensuring their first steps into swimming are both enjoyable and enriching. Cherubs is more than just a swimming class! It’s an opportunity to foster early water safety awareness, promote sensory development, and create lasting memories in the water.

Walkers

16 Months - 3 years

The Walkers program is designed for toddlers aged 16 to 36 months, providing a dynamic environment to continue their early swimming journey. Focused on water safety awareness, the program helps toddlers understand safe practices around aquatic environments while fostering a love for the water.

In addition to safety, the program promotes the development of gross motor skills through age-appropriate, water-based activities that encourage coordination, strength, buoyancy, and movement techniques. Through interactive, play-centered tasks, toddlers are kept engaged while gradually building confidence and preparing for more structured aquatic instruction in the future. The Walkers program lays a strong foundation for lifelong swimming enjoyment and water safety.

Youngsters

3 -3.5 Years

Youngsters classes serve as a crucial transition stage, helping children develop independence while reinforcing essential water safety and swimming readiness skills. At this level, children transition from a parent/child learning environment and work towards participation in a child only class. Children are encouraged to take a more active role in their learning, building confidence in the water with the support of nearby parents. Our lesson model ensures that children can separate from their parents and participate in lessons without separation anxiety.

Children practise floating on their backs and stomachs, basic propulsion techniques, and breath control to enhance comfort and safety. They also learn vital water safety skills, including safe entry and exit techniques and the importance of staying near the pool’s edge. These classes provide a well-rounded foundation, ensuring children are prepared, capable, and confident as they progress to fully independent swimming lessons.
